KLANG is a visual component-based music software-based environment for building and performing hybrid music systems across modular, retro MIDI, semimodular and software.
It connects Eurorack, MIDI, and digital processes into a single, real-time system and controller-based hyper instruments.

KLANG can augment retro MIDI synthesisers through extensive use of SysEx and MIDI CC data, creating new sounds and dense layers of control that shape the motion and behaviour of sound over time.

KLANG can also augment Eurorack modular systems through MIDI-to-CV integration, using its own open-ended construction of systems and processes to generate evolving control structures, behaviours, and interactions beyond conventional patching.

KLANG builds into a hybrid software–hardware environment for creating music and sound with analogue modular Eurorack systems, retro MIDI synthesisers, and semi-modular instruments. It can bring together two worlds: Analogue modular sound—tactile, immediate, and shaped through patching—and software behaviour and meta-machinic processes. As a software patching system for constructing processes, it can generate evolving behaviour that shapes control voltage, extending analogue modular beyond patching alone.
