What is Klang

KLANG is a visual, component-based music environment for building and performing hybrid systems across Eurorack modular, semi-modular and retro MIDI synths.

It connects CV, MIDI, SysEx, and digital processes into a single real-time performance environment for creating controller-based hyper instruments.

KLANG extends retro MIDI synthesizers through extensive use of SysEx and MIDI CC, generating new sounds and dense layers of control that shape the motion and behaviour of sound over time.

Through MIDI-to-CV integration, KLANG also extends Eurorack systems, using open-ended software processes to create evolving control structures, behaviours, and interactions beyond conventional patching.

What are Klangs?

A KLANG coordinates multiple CV modulations and their timing relationships as a single structural system. Rather than patching isolated modulation sources independently, a KLANG organises them into a higher-level structure that can control how signals interact across an entire patch. This makes complex modular systems easier to manage, supports longer-form evolving structures, and allows subtle timing relationships between CV signals to become part of the sound and composition itself.
